We approach every clinical setting affirmatively. Regardless of what brings you to therapy, having a therapist who understands and affirms your identity is vital for the progression of treatment and the therapeutic relationship.

  • At our practice, we have a special interest in working with individuals who have been diagnosed with borderline personality disorder (BPD). Borderline personality disorder (BPD) is, at its core, a form of attachment trauma. Individuals with BPD are often biologically more sensitive and have been repeatedly invalidated by their environment. People with BPD may have been told things like: “Stop being dramatic!”, “Normal people don’t react this way”, “You’re too much!”, “You shouldn’t be this upset,” etc. With a radically authentic and validating approach, we want to help support you in creating a life you feel is worth living. This includes practicing mindfulness in order to live fully in the present moment without judgment or distraction; learning how to skillfully tolerate distress in times of crisis without making the situation worse; understanding how to identify emotions and change the relationship to them; and learning how to effectively ask for what you want and say no while maintaining self-respect and improving your relationship with others.

Our team of experienced therapists has extensive training in the treatment of BPD, and we use evidence-based approaches such as dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) to help our clients find relief from their symptoms and improve their overall quality of life. We understand that living with BPD can be incredibly challenging, and we are here to provide compassionate and understanding support. We work with our clients to help them develop healthy coping skills, improve their relationships, and find a sense of stability and control in their lives.

If you or a loved one are struggling with BPD, please don't hesitate to contact us to discuss your needs and help you determine if our practice is the right fit for you. We look forward to connecting with you and supporting you on your journey towards healing and growth.

  • Traumatic experiences cannot be defined objectively, as each client can identify their own traumatic experiences that different from one person to the next. Trauma can be described as acute (a single event/incident), chronic (a specific type of traumatic incident recurring over a period of time), or complex (varied or multiple traumatic events, including traumatic invalidation).

There are a variety of approaches for trauma-informed care, and our priority is to treat each client seeking trauma treatment with respect, unconditional positive regard, sensitivity without fragility, and radical genuineness. We are proud have therapists who are trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and prolonged exposure therapy (PE) to our clients. These evidence-based approaches have been proven to be highly effective in treating a variety of mental health issues, including post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety, phobias, and traumatic memories.

EMDR is a holistic therapy that uses bilateral stimulation (such as eye movements, tapping, or audio tones) to help individuals process and integrate difficult memories and experiences. This approach can help clients reduce the intensity of negative emotions and beliefs, and improve their overall functioning.

Prolonged exposure therapy is another effective treatment for PTSD, anxiety, and phobias. This approach involves gradually and systematically exposing individuals to the things they fear or avoid, in a safe and controlled environment. This can help clients overcome their fears and reduce their symptoms, leading to improved wellbeing.

If you are struggling with PTSD, anxiety, phobias, or other related concerns, we can help you work through your experiences and find relief. Please don't hesitate to reach out to us to discuss your needs and determine if our practice is the right fit for you. We look forward to connecting with you and supporting you on your journey towards healing and growth.
